Cycling in Brighton & Hove has seen a large increase in recent years (almost 30% between 2006 - 2008).
However many people who work in Brighton still drive their cars despite the high premiums for parking. It is thought that approximately 45% of workers drive less than 3 miles to arrive at their jobs.
With people adopting a more greener and cleaner mindset and additionally with such awareness of wanting to keep healthy. We must ask do people not change their habits and at least attempt to cycle to work? It would not hurt to at least try, maybe 1 or 2 days in the week. Garb a bike, put on a helmet and get pedaling.
Especially now as A north south cycle freeway has been completed and provides a link between the Downs, from the Dyke Railway Trail in Hangleton to the seafront via Hove station. Not to mention the miles of cycle paths that run along the south coasts promenade.
