Art in Brighton

Brighton has long been a cosmopolitan melting pot with people from all walks of life living, studying, working and socialising in the city.

The people of Brighton that give the city it's unique charm come from four corners of the world and as a result generate freshness and excitement which is as constant as the tides that lap at one of the coolest and buzziest cities in the UK.

As a result their has been a huge and diverse expression of creativity which has inspired others to open their minds and get involved. Throughout the year Brighton and Hove have many Art Open Houses where people can freely come to see other artists work and make a purchase or two. In addition the May Festival is a huge event that occurs every year. There are street performers, open houses, restaurants and bars participate as do hotels and guest houses. It is one of many great creative events that happens in Brighton through out the year.

Many artists base themselves in Brighton, some were born here and have chosen to stay and as you would expect many have relocated. Some have come from other towns around the UK and indeed many others have moved from various countries to study or work in Brighton which adds to the mix of culture and vibrancy that is present in this amazing City.

Below are some links to various artists galleries, exhibitions and profiles.
The medium ranges from photographic to oil paintings and from water colours to bronze sculptures.
